We all were supposed to be perfect without any weakness in an ideal world, but unfortunately the world has so many variants, forcing us to develop weakness which is basically the short coming to handle the variants. This article will help the readers identify their strength & weakness and will be a guide to transform weakness to strength. Transforming weakness to strength has three steps Identify, Analyze and Transform.
How to identify strengths & Weakness: Most of the time we won’t realize our strength until we have a strong reason to do it but we all have fair idea about our weakness which will help us identify our strengths. Mr. X is an introvert, having difficulties, delivering speech in-front of audience which is his weakness, on the other hand he is good in drafting powerful speeches. Mrs. X is not an expert in cooking Chinese dishes but she is very good in cooking Indian dishes.
Select subject or context which could be your profession, Sports, Hobbies etc.. etc.. Identify your weakness and strength. Don’t mix up the subject, which is not an efficient way to transform your weakness for example Mr. X is poor in public speaking but good in baking cakes. Here we are comparing completely two non-related subjects public speaking and Baking cakes.
Ask your most trusted well-wishers, friends, colleagues to help you list down your strength and weakness. Probably through a series of questions, most important is that the feedback shall be realistic.
Having judged your strength and weakness which is the first stage, we advance to second stage of transforming weakness to strength
Practice, Practice & Practice: Practice is an instrument to learn. Practice brings confidence. Confidence leads to transformation of weakness to strength. “ Practice as if you have never won, Perform like you have never lost” Mr. X needs to practice numerous times in-front of the mirror before he goes live in-front of audience. Mrs. X shall cook Chinese dish more often for herself. Slowly his/ her weakness will start to become strength
Challenge yourself: Nothing is going to change without trying or shying away from it. Impose a self challenge and attempt to do things which you are weak in. Mr. X shall not be content with writing a powerful speech he shall challenge himself to deliver the speech. Mrs. X shall challenge herself to cook Chinese dish more often for her friends.
Showcase your strengths: Did u have more weakness than strength don’t worry, let learn from nature a little bit. Animals & birds when posed a threat expand their body or spread their wings creating an illusion about their appearance. Similarly expand your strength and showcase it in a dominant way hiding your weakness.
Look for professional support: Having tried all possible way by yourself or with help of the friends, the last resort is to seek professional help. Now-a-days one can easily locate institutes which specializes in Intra & Inter personnel development, skill development which can help you transform your weakness to strength. Mr. X can attend an evening seminar on "How to enhance your Public speaking skill" and Mrs. X can attend a culinary school which teaches the basics of Chinese cooking.
Knowing yourself and Realization of what you can do, can help you recognize and overcome the weakness. Build on you strength and work on your weakness. Hope this article helps the readers Identify their strength and transform their weakness
