My  aim was to show my kids the map of Jeddah, but my daughter noticed that the map shows location of Domino’s Pizza outlets.... anyways we could trace some landmarks successfully. We decided to post the map on the wall, I noticed a phrase behind the poster “Serving only good vibes in here” The phrase attracted me and I posted the phrase instead of the map and Kudos I found a topic for my blog. That's the story behind the post...Continue reading the post till the end to find out where good vibes are served.. Good vibes or Good vibration is a pleasant emotion which a person gives out to those around him.. Generate good vibes: Positive thinking, being humorous, helping others, being appreciative, being kind, forgiving are some gestures which can fill the space around you with good vibes. Santa clause will be shortly visiting our home for distributing gifts and blessings... As an individual we welcome " Hello December" and are ought to think and measure what we have done the last 11months and pen down our plan for next 12 months.. We took vows when the clock struck 12, and we stepped into 2016. Are those vows only c

Indians are struck with English Nostalgia

Image
This article is linked to Indispire edition No: 145   " Does speaking well in English add a sparkle to the personality of a person? If 'yes', then do you feel it is right? Share your views " Trip to London: A man living in rural India wins a ticket for a trip to London. After 2 weeks he returns back from London and met his friend. They discussed many things about his trip...   Friend: what did you  like the most in London? London return: In London everyone is well educated. Friend : How do u know that? London return ; Yaar... Only well educated people can speak in English but in London even waiters and labors speak only in English. Even small babies speak in English... English Nostalgia: Well, Indians regard some one who can speak English as superior than others, well educated(sahib) and give them lot of respect. Indians are badly struck with English Nostalgia and practice American accent and British accent. Many tour guides speak well in E

A tribute to the fearless man with a turban and big moustache

It was early 20th century... It was more than 50years since Sepoy Mutiny(1857) happened, Well, British governance was facing tough agitation from Indian tribal leaders, Nawab's and Kings in many forms. By then British were  ruling India for more than a century and they have no plans to leave India because of the wealth it possesses, abundance of raw materials and cheap resources . They started Indian rail, planted tea gardens, developed hill stations and India has became a county( I guess) and integral part of Great Britain and Indians became immigrants in their very own country While British were developing infrastructure for the sake of rich and the powerful, we Indians were busy fighting against each other in the name of caste, creed and religion. Many castes were prohibited from entering the temples, denied formal education and women had no respect and rights  in the society. Child marriage, bonded labor  and satti were in practice. India was in dire need of personali

Don't Look back but look back

Image
Everyone passes through many characters, events, happenings, memories in their lifetime. As years pass by it becomes experience and brings maturity and refinement to one's character. There are many characters, incidents. events etc.. which one needs to remember and look back, and there certain things which needs to be discarded and never looked back. In 1960 Olympics in Rome Milka Singh the flying Sikh was running furiously in 400 meters finals and his competitor were no where near him. His win was certain. He knew no one was ahead of him, but he just turned and looked back and slowed down a little bit as his opponents were far behind and pathetically he finished 4th in the race. It's a wrong time and place when he looked back and lost his race. There are certain things which one shall not be look back... and there certain things one shall always look back and remember. When you are driving on the highway, though you focus on the road. At times we need to look back i

Heroes of the Universe

Image
Hero is a one (typically man, but not confined to only man. I see it as a generic term)who is admired for his courage, outstanding achievement and noble qualities. India has seen many female National heroes like Jhansi Rani, Sarojini Naidu, Mother Teresa. Like good and evil, success and failure, victory and defeat, hero or heroism is also a comparative term( Hero and villain). Comparative terms cannot be judged well, without a context, as the bench mark keeps changing from time to time. Heroes are Heroes, as they are always on the side of good and fight against the evil, protect their fellow human beings irrespective of the context and situation. Father is a hero for his children, Teachers are heroes for their students, Champions are heroes for Sportsmen, Ministers are heroes for their party members. Can Everyone be a Hero? Everyone is a hero in one way or other being a Father, Teacher, Ruler, Champion in their own role and circle. Certain qualities distinguish a Hero

World of Rat Race...

Image
What is rat race? I was not knowing the exact definition so I called up Google uncle and in a fraction of second he searched, all over the world wide web and brought me the appropriate definition " a way of life where people are caught up in fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power" Rat race ... Are you in or out? How to know whether you are in the rat race or not? Its pretty simple take a minute, think and answer yourself honestly.. Is your aim in life remained the same throughout life or it keeps changing? Are you spending enough on yourself? When u last went on a holiday trip with family or with friends? How often you shower kind words to your colleagues and sub-ordinates? Bank Balance and Blood Pressure: One of my colleague was quoting that his Blood pressure is indirectly proportional to his bank balance. Bank balance decreases and his BP increases and vice versa. Now I understand why he is always behind overtimes, it's to control his blood

Long ago when i was in school...

Image
I went to Caldwell higher secondary school in Tuticorin.. It's a boy's school established  by Rev. Caldwell in 1893. The buildings were pretty old but the school was filled with freshness. Most of the benches and desk have frames of cast iron with a foldable desk, which has a grove for ink pots. The school has a chapel and a big assembly area. Its has really big playground, which is bigger than a football field, and also has separate  basketball & volley ball grounds. In this modern age most of the schools are smaller than our school's playground... Shrinking world and we play all games only in smartphones...        Everyday morning there used to be an assembly where prayer's are conducted. Special guest used to come now and then and give motivational speeches. When special guest come to our school assembly, homework defaulters were very happy as first hour of classes will be cancelled.       From my house the school is 6Km away and I used to go
