India and cultural diversity
India is a beautiful sovereign country and is one of the most culturally diverse country. Anyone in the world would easily accept India as a cultural capital. The list runs miles when we talk about the cultural experience in the form of art, festivals, customs, social behavior etc. In many countries uniform culture is adapted, whereas in India every 100KM one can experience a new cultural variant and in every 500KM can easily experience a completely different culture.
If anyone wishes to witness the rich cultural heritage of India, watch the republic day parade on 26th January every year, where cultural diversity of India is demonstrated by a colorful parade. Every state of India showcase their cultural heritage with great pride during the Republic day parade. Its a real treat to watch the cultural diversity.
Cultural diversity enriches the country with many art forms and enhances creativity. Every individual in India respects and follows the culture to which he/she belongs. In marriages, in festivals, in worships, in sports, in art forms, in food etc.... India is filled with rich cultural heritage. So many cultures co-existing together creates a sort of confusion, yet we Indians live in harmony along side other culture in peace.

The reason for the cultural diversity is in one way or another the diverse landscape of India. Different people living in Plains, Mountains, Swampy lands, Sea Side, Desert, Forest follow different culture. The dresses, festivals, food, marriage customs are completely different and is influenced by the environment they live in. People living in similar landscapes have cultural heritage almost similar to each other.
Art is very important form of reflecting the culture. India has many dance and art forms which includes Bharathanatiyam, kathakali, kuchupudi, kathak and many more. Many foreigners come to India to witness cultural diversity of India, fell in love with our culture and settle in India. I recently read in Newspaper, an Australian couple travelled to India to get married in traditional Indian way.
One more influencing factor of Indian culture is caste system and religion. Different religion and caste bring unique and exquisite cultural heritage. India is a country where many religions co-exist together. I have travelled for work and for tourism to as many 15 states in India, which gives me a good knowledge about the different culture throughout India. Most of my journeys were by Rail India, which runs through green paddy fields, pierce through forest and crawl through the barren lands of India. It gives a chance to meet many people and witness the cultural richness of India.
It will not be justified if I didn’t mention about the architectural marvel of India. From Tajmahal to Bragadeeswarar temple in Tanjavur, one can witness many monuments, buildings, temples etc. which stands as witness for India's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Recent years due to westernization we push ourselves towards modern culture and customs. We don’t have time for arranging or organising events, solution is event management groups who organise everything on behalf of us. These event management group have readymade packages, though all efforts are made to follow culture, it is often compromised. It has come to such a level we use plastic Plantain leaves instead of real Plantain leaves.Despite our busy schedule and western culture fast engulfing us very fast, it is our duty to preserve the cultural heritage.
I have attempted to explain the diverse cultural heritage of India. One blog article is not enough to explain the cultural diversity of India you need a full book edition, yet tried to capture the Jest. Enjoy the reading the article and do leave you comments
