Family Trip to Jordan

Along with my family I visited Jordan during Eid-Al-Fitr Holidays( Ramadan Holidays). We had 9 days holidays for Eid-Al-Fitr and it was a great opportunity to visit Jordan during these days. Jordan is easily accessible from Jeddah(12 hours by road) but we preferred to take flight rather than driving to Amman. Indian passport holders are eligible for on-arrival visa so we didn't have much hassle of visiting the nearest consulate for visa stamping.

We availed 5 days 4 night private tour package covering Amman, Dead Sea and Petra. Tour program was arranged by Petra night Tours(http://www.petranightstours.com/). we were welcomed by PNT representative in Queen Alia airport  who helped us in smooth visa procedures and handling of luggage. Itenary was perfectly stitched with flexible options making the tour more convenient and comfortable.
I created a short video of the route and destination forehand of our tour based on our Itenary. It was quite interesting to make video. The making of this video gave me an idea about the landscape and insight of the tour(hope it plays in your device).

 

Amman: Amman city was not in our Itenary, but thanks to my colleague who took us to the Roman theatre in Amman which also houses two museums showcasing the antiques of that region.

Jerash: Jerash is a roman city destroyed in a earthquake dating back to 323AD. Its one hour drive from the city of Amman. Jerash stands as testimony for Romans town planning skills with underground drainage, market place, theatres and temples.

Madaba and Mt. Nebo: Madaba houses an ancient church which has oldest mosaic map with natural colored stones. Mt.Nebo is believed to be the place from where Prophet Moses gazed at the promised land. Mt.Nebo also has a church with lot of mosaic art. Splendid.. On the way to Madaba from Amman we had time to socialize with ship of the desert and have Camel milk.

Dead Sea: We had access to the private beach in Hotel Holiday Inn.. It was fun floating in the Dead Sea. Its a private beach so Life guards were on duty, clean changing room and washrooms.

Petra:  One of the recently added world wonders. Its an architectural marvel specially the Treasury and the Monastery. Though a lot a walking, its worth the effort. Riding a donkey, mule, Pony is a better alternative to avoid lot of walking. Round trip from Petra Entrance gate to the monastery and back will be around 10km.

We were on our way from Dead Sea to Petra  where we had a chance to witness the lovely sunset from the view point.

The tourist attraction in Jordan provides a Picture perfect view. We too clicked loads and loads of pictures. We have not covered some destination which include Aqaba, Wadi Rum and  Karak crusaders castle so will be returning to Jordan soon...
