We are living in fast moving and competitive world, it's really important for each and everyone to have a successful career. After graduation everyone has colorful dreams about his/her career. In reality when u take up a job it becomes a nightmare and feels like you are heading no-where.

Although there is no alternative for hard work and there are no shortcuts for having a successful career. Here are some basic thumb rules which can help to turn your career nightmare into a colorful rainbow.
Applying your knowledge :
It's very common to hear young professionals saying " what I learnt in college is completely different from what I am doing at work" which clearly indicates that he/she didn't study properly in college or he/she has landed in a wrong place. If you are in a wrong place vacate your seat quickly or start correlating what u have studied and the task you are performing. One should understand at work you don't do what u studied but u apply what u studied.
Self learning
Honestly speaking no one  including your boss would come to you explaining each and every step. Everyone is busy with their own task and runs short of time in their busy schedule. Start learning by yourself about your job and the task to be performed. I swear within three months you will become well versed and excel in your job.
Right Attitude:
Its very important to have a right attitude in your workplace. With right attitude you start getting friends who will extend their helping hand when your struck. Don't he submissive.. Don't be harsh, don't be over animated, Don't be hesitant , Don't let anyone take your credits and don't grab others, Listen well before you reply and so on...
Involvement :
Involvement is a very important aspect for successful career. Do your job with dedication, sincerity, confidence ( Related Link : Simple things which can boost confidence)and with whole hearted involvement. Complaining about the job doesn't help in any ways, so it's very important to do the job with full involvement. Self involvement and team involvement greatly helps in succeeding in your career and identify yourself as an prominent player in the organization.
Grab the opportunities:
Opportunity knocks the door once in a while so don't let go any opportunities. If your superior assigns a task which is way beyond your experience and expertise, do not hesitate to grab the opportunity. Fortune favors the brave.. Look at every chance as an opportunity to expand your boundaries and to emerge successful.
Deeds not words:
Don't involve in self-praising which in long run will not be helpful. Self-praising is like an inflated balloon which may not last long. Let your success speak for you. Things like pay hikes, promotion, perks and stuff may not happen quickly as you wish, when you let your deeds speak for you but no one can take it away from you. Self-praising might not be heard at all times, but when your success speaks for you it will echo everywhere and can be heard from far away.

Sit back and think how many of these thumb rules you are following, If you are following all, you are in the right path towards your target and if not start following the thumb rules and you will feel the changes.

Successful career is not far away from your reach, it's only an Inch away. Move an extra Inch and you will successful. I wish all readers very successful career.
