Three short three line stories

The Mask and the Lip Gloss Usha likes bright lip gloss and liners. Unfortunately she is born in an ultra conservative family where make-up is looked upon and dealt with. So even wearing a dull lip gloss was a distant dream. Government made it mandatory to wear face mask and Usha's office too made mask compulsory. All her collogues were cursing the COVID-19 second wave. Usha was smiling under her mask with a bright red lip gloss and liner.  Democracy and Election Rajkumar and his wife are daily wagers in construction industry. Due to election, works were withheld for a week. Rajkumar managed his needs with whatever little supplies he had; but on the day of election his family was literally starving. Forcefully he went out to look for any petty work, where he was contacted by a party worker to vote for them & offered a packet of briyani. He bargained for four packets. His family of four had briyani that day.   Does it really matter... Ram, Vijay and Baskar are school friends. Ram

Oasis in the desert...

Pandemic has struck the world and it has struck very hard. All we hear these days are bad news around us. However, scorching the heat of the desert, there is always an Oasis. If Pandemic is the desert, Oasis is the art(Music, Painting, poetry, Cinema etc.,). Though many of these activities are restricted due to social distancing, desert has almost engulfed the Oasis. Musicians & Artist are trying to create at-least waterholes if not the whole Oasis using technology.   In one such attempt I am sharing or compiling the Poetry(no where near to any poem) published earlier in my blog. Its only capturing of the feeling at that point of time. Enjoy reading... Life after coronavirus

When everything around the world is standstill due to the pandemic, what else to write about!!!!. Previously an article about " Corona virus and Mental health" was published in my blog page, which received a good response. It is more important  how useful it was, than the response. Even if it had helped a single person in overcoming the disturbance due to lock down, I would consider it as a grand success. The same ideas can be implemented during normal times also. Link for the article is given below for anyone who would like to read http://allwynanddiana.blogspot.com/2020/04/corona-virus-and-mental-health.html Impact of coronavirus (nCOV-19), is going to be permanent on the whole world. When the pandemic was declared by WHO, most of the countries except a few resorted to lock down. People around the world showed a lot of resilience in handling the lock down, as well as governments around the world. Governments kept the essential supply chain moving and worked hard to

Corona virus and mental health

Everyone of us are aware about the global pandemic which is caused by novel Corona-virus named COVID-19. Though Corona-virus is not a new one, the latest mutation which is believed to originate from Wuhan province of China spreads rapidly causing pneumonia. Even some prominent leaders are addressing it as " China Virus" which china has condemned. Followed by the pandemic declaration by WHO many countries has stepped in and have announced lock-down except few countries like Sweden who believe their citizens are self-disciplined to follow the social distancing and personal hygiene without imposing curfew. The COVID-19 spreads through droplets, since there is no vaccine  the only way to prevent contracting the deadly virus is by maintaining social distancing, washing hands frequently etc.. Enough of it, as all news channels worldwide are broadcasting news, analysis, prevention, myths about corona all through out the day.  Many lost their jobs(special daily wages labors, do

Pursuit of happiness

Image
Happiness is a positive state of mind or a emotional feeling which is pleasant. Happiness is around us as well as within us. Rich and poor are in pursuit of happiness, Young and the old are in pursuit of happiness, Intellectuals and the weak are also in pursuit of happiness. Happiness exist for a certain period of time eventually returning back to normal. The pursuit of happiness is continuous. We seek happiness every passing day, every passing minute and every passing second. Laughter brings happiness, helping brings happiness, games brings happiness, art, music dance, jokes etc.. etc.. brings in happiness. The real happiness lies within.  In the modern age there is shortage of laughter as we are struck in our air conditioned cabins for the whole day. At the end of the day we are socially inactive, we meet friends and relatives rarely and live muted. Emotions are suppressed while we try to learn happiness by attending wellness classes. This is a cry of the empty souls in pursuit

My Superman

Image
Everyone in the world knows a superhero in their life. Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Ironman etc.. etc.. Like everyone, my daughter also has a superhero... Let’s see how she describes the superhero and find out who is that superhero..  Before reading a huge round of applause for the poet inside my daughter... she believes she knows a superhero... Special thanks to my daughter’s English teacher, who insisted that the activity to be done as a poem. My Superman When I think of hero, Courage is what comes to my mind, When someone is in midst of trouble, He is there in the double. Hearing the word hero, The villains are equal to thousand zeroes, But not every hero has special costumes, Nor do they have wings, Though they have common things, Not like the fantasy, But indeed lovely. My hero is none like this one, Instead on the run, Throughout, He works day and night, A great brilliance, my father.                                             - Adn

Unlock success with GAP

Success is elusive as always. There is no special formulae or thumb rule to succeed. Do you know why? Success is a comparative term .. One may feel successful but adjourned not successful by others. Your goal or finish line may not be the same as of others as goals are usually influenced by our life and circumstances. To understand better, for a poor man if he is able to earn enough to feed his family, buy them clothing, give them a shelter he can consider himself successful whereas a rich man need not worry about the basic needs, he considers himself successful only when he has earned his fortune. To be successful if you are chasing someone else goal, you may get a participation certificate but not the medal. You are your only judge who can judge whether you are successful or not. Usually you don’t need to be worried about others judgment, but it is very important to fix appropriate goals. You can’t set an unrealistically high goals or unbelievably low goals. Not only settin
